The partnership combines Treet’s innovative solutions for timber with Ignitor’s 50 years of passive fire-protection expertise, nationwide service and deep knowledge of the Spanish market.
Vantaa, Finland — 6 August 2026 — Treet, an innovative Finnish company developing translucent and environmentally conscious fire-retardant solutions for wood, has entered the Spanish market through a distribution partnership with Ignitor Productos Ignífugos.
Timber construction is gaining momentum in Spain as architects, developers and contractors increasingly choose wood for lower-impact and visually distinctive buildings. As its use grows across structures, façades and interiors, integrating fire performance from the earliest stages of design and specification is becoming increasingly important.
Through the partnership, Spanish architects, engineers, timber companies, contractors and applicators will gain local access to Treet’s fire-retardant wood-treatment solutions, supported by Ignitor’s technical consultancy, distribution and on-site application capabilities.
“The Spanish market needs solutions that combine fire performance, technical rigour and architectural quality. By bringing Treet’s innovative products together with Ignitor’s regulatory knowledge and application expertise, we can give project teams strong local support from specification to execution.”
Llorenç Domingo Capdevila, CEO, Ignitor Productos Ignífugos
Treet develops translucent fire-retardant solutions that help improve timber fire performance while preserving the natural appearance and architectural expression of wood. Ignitor brings 50 years of experience in passive fire protection, with specialist expertise in the reaction to fire of timber and textile materials.
The company operates throughout Spain, providing technical consultancy, product distribution and direct application services. Its market knowledge is reinforced by its involvement with Tecnifuego, the Fire Protection Cluster of Catalonia and the Gremi de la Fusta de Catalunya.
“Spain is a strategically important market for Treet. As timber becomes more central to sustainable architecture, fire safety must evolve alongside it. Ignitor gives us the local expertise and technical capability needed to support projects from specification to application while preserving the natural character of timber.” Sameli Hakola, Chief Commercial Officer, Treet
Ignitor will market and distribute Treet products in Spain while providing local customer service, technical support, stock availability, tinting services and trained application expertise. Treet will support the market with product documentation, specialist training and technical guidance.
Together, the companies will help Spanish project teams integrate fire safety earlier, make better-informed specification decisions and deliver safer timber architecture without compromising design.
