ECOLOGICAL FIRE PROTECTION OF WOOD CLADDINGS

The Place Laherrère in Pau provides public services, business locations and apartments in the middle of the city. The innovative building has 11 000 m2 of space in two buildings. The building complex Place Laherrère is owned by the city of Pau and was built by Ets Chouard.

Pau is a mid-sized town close to the Pyrenees in the South West of France and home to Henry IV (1553–1610), King of France and Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte (1763–1844) known as Charles XIV John, King of Sweden.

The beautiful wood cladding of the building was produced by Finso. All visible wood was industrially fire-protected at Finso’s factory in Captieux. The panels were treated with toned NT DECO flame retardant and the translucent tone was specified by the customer.

“NT DECO was chosen for four reasons: It has B-s1, d0 reaction to fire performance, it has a nice translucent finished appearance, it is easy to implement and it is an ecological product.”

Franck Desplat, Manager, Finso
